Night & Day Studios is an app company that designs and produces apps in Portland, Oregon. They focus primarily on Children's apps for iOS and Android.

At Night & Day I worked with a variety of people, including animators, developers, sound-production, & marketing personnel.

Brand Management, Design, Web Design

The Peoples Yoga brought me in to help manage their already existing brand, by creating fliers that created brand consistency. After succeeding in doing so, we moved on to creating a new website that would also adhere to their brand. This project is still currently in the works, but through it I have learned how to design for the web using the wordpress platform by working hand in hand with the developers on this project.

Identity Design, Collateral Design

Swagger is a diverse group of writers who are starting their own publishing company. They came to me in need of an identity. Along with the logo I expanded the project by creating materials they could use for promotional purposes as they continue to expand their business.

Design

Poster Design for the AIGA get out the Vote Campaign. Goal was to create a non-partisan poster to encourage people to get out and Vote for the upcoming election.

Brand Design, Production 

The County Cork Public House was in desperate need of an update. They are a traditional irish pub with a hip, more modern atmosphere. Their current logo and menu do not accurately represent this, its very heavy and traditional. I used the traditional elements as inspiration for a more streamlined brand. The menus nest within each other making for easy transport, and are small and compact. The layout makes the menu easy to read and understand, even with such a large selection its not overwhelming.

I created this publication for my Bitch Magazine internship application. I took inspiration from various page layouts from the magazine and changed the content to be about why I would make a great intern. I didn't leave out any detail, right down to the page numbers.

Why does everyone move to Portland? Is the question I asked myself before moving here myself. The Info-graphic publication is something I created after doing my research. It was an interesting way to organize my findings, I designed it with mass production in mind, it would be a great guide book or learning tool for classrooms. The publication unfolds to reveal the info-graphic poster on the reverse side. 

Design

An identity is the first thing you see, its the first impression of your buisness. This is my philosophy behind branding and identity design. I really enjoy a good branding project, I like to see the progression from the initial idea to the finished product and enjoy all the steps in-between. 

Brand Design

Brass Tacks Sandwiches opened in the summer of 2011. I created all Branding and Collateral for them. A big part of this project was brand management, organizing all of their ideas and creating a solution on a limited budget. This is an ongoing project. 

Illustration, Layout, Concept

My first year in Portland I interned with the non-profit publication Bitch Magazine. I played many different roles within the organization and learned the ins and outs of the magazine. I worked on two issues of the magazine, for their 15th anniversary issue I was able to illustrate and layout an article. I also spent a big portion of my time here converting back issues of the magazine into digital editions. 

Illustration

Digital Collage is another form of illustration I specialize in. I really enjoy this medium, because I take extra time and effort to find my own images. I enjoy the hunt for great imagery and digging through piles of old magazines some dating back to the 1890's.

Illustration

Linoleum block, wood block, screenprinting, monotype are all types of printmaking I specialize in. Printmaking is another one of my favorite types of illustration. Its such a primitive art form its nice to step away from the computer once and a while and get my hands dirty.
